Welcome back, Fall. I've missed you.

HYGGE

(pronounced HOO-gah)

It’s officially a new season with new opportunities for renewal.  In California, we don’t always feel the drastic seasonal differences.  However, I am beginning to see the leaves turn and feel the cooler air.  For me, Fall is a little more than a Pumpkin Spice Latte (although, YUM).  The trees begin to shed their leaves, the plants stop making food and the animals begin to prepare for the longer months ahead.  As the sun becomes more elusive, we tend to spend more time indoors and begin the transition toward winter.

For me, Fall is also for focusing.  The unwinding of Summer brings routine and a schedule that I quite like.  I pull out my intentions I’ve set to reflect where I am (or am not) and refocus on what’s important right now.  I snuggle up with reading and my work while reveling in any kind of  Hygge (HOO-gah) type activities I can.  What’s Hygge, you ask?  I encourage you to get to know it!  My maternal family heritage is Danish and I’ve always enjoyed the “feeling” of it, without realizing it was an actual thing.  Someone gave me this book and once I discovered it’s meaning, I felt very connected to the warm, cozy lifestyle that this time of year begins (yes, even in California).  In our house tonight, we will be having a small celebration to bring on the Autumny goodness, and to look forward and focus on Fall.

So, I’m curious.  What is Fall like for you?  Do you notice the seasons changing, are you anticipating or avoiding what’s ahead?  Are you inspired to making some changes, or feeling focused on something less pleasant?

If you are feeling like being up to something important, contact me!  I would love to hear what it is and see if I can help you get there.  I’m offering Fall focus workshops starting in October.  Join me.
